I am not much of a pumpkin spice girl but apples and cinnamon? Sign me up. I sometimes put apple pie spice in my morning coffee. #truestory
My husband and I had these apple brownies at a party last weekend up in the mountains. These are ah-mazing. Not healthy, but hey, there are apples and walnuts, so that’s some protein and fruit, right?
Seriously these are one of the best desserts I have had in a long time and I immediately accosted my mom’s friend Sandy to please share the recipe. She did and I love her even more now. We bought a half a peck of North Georgia mountain apples (which is a lot, ya’ll) and I’ve been making apple everything all week to use them up. You can use any type of apple but I used one that was sweet with a bit of tartness.
I made these the other night and took it a bit over the top by adding caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream when serving. They are really different and I will be making them again very soon.

Ingredients
Method
- Mix the first three ingredients in a large bowl.
- Blend in the next four and then add the chopped apples and walnuts. ( I used a wooden spoon, not my Kitchen Aid)
- Pour into a 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
